Julian Bialowas is a Canadian Photographer & Designer born in Montreal, Quebec, currently residing in Calgary, Alberta and packing his bags to move to San Francisco in the coming weeks.
Best known for his 365q photo project, Julian also helps others live their dreams at Everest, co-runs 16HOURS Magazine, and works with brands and artists worldwide, including the likes of Shwood Eyewear and Brooklyn based dream-pop band Savoir Adore (take a look at his cover art for their new album…wow).
I was first introduced to Julian’s work last year when my sister showed me some photos from his project, 365q. When I initially saw the images I was completely taken by their beauty, and equally inspired by their words. Simple, powerful… each piece is really breathtaking. It was only when my sister explained the project itself that I was able to fully appreciate the genius of Julian’s work. Every single day for a year, Julian captured and posted one of the images seen above.
I found this undertaking absolutely fascinating. Not only is the commitment commendable, but I can only imagine the transformative and inspiring effect that a project like 365q must have on a person who is immersed in it for an extended period of time.
I cannot tell you how difficult it was to select only a few images to feature in today’s post. I came really close to creating a gallery of 365 images! Please, do yourself a favor, and visit 365q or get your hands on a digital copy of 16 hours (we love the Wanderlust Issue). You will get lost in Julian’s work in the most wonderful way. Do a little digging, and share your favorite images with us on twitter with the hashtag #365q.
P.S. If you like what you see… get EXCITED! Julian is teaming up with YM&C for a special project that we have in the works. Can’t wait to share more with you all.
