If you haven’t heard of Ukrainian photographer Oleg Oprisco, then today is the perfect day to discover his work! And, if you already know him and love what he does (how could you not?) then here’s a treat for you: Oleg Oprisco has done an exclusive Q&A for You (yes, you!), Me and Charlie. Are you ready to explore his whimsical world?
Ninon: Let’s have fun and begin with a random question: what other era would you have liked to live in as a teenager and why?
Oleg Oprisco: I really like the Middle Ages. At this time, everything was perfect, visually: dresses, buildings, traditions and celebrations. That would have been the perfect time for a great photo shoot.
N: What are your passions, beside photography?
O. Oprisco: Beside photography, I’m interested in politics, football, cinema and contemporary art.
N: Oh! You like cinema! Are there any movies you would recommend?
O. Oprisco: I’m a big fan of Tarkovsky. I would recommend all of his movies, but you can start with these ones: Nostalghia and Offret.
N: What is your favorite band? Your favorite book?
O. Oprisco: I love light alternative rock (Radiohead, Oasis, Coldplay). In Ukraine, there is a very popular group Okean Elzy. Look, I’m sure you’ll like it!
I read the Russian classics – Tolstoy, Kuprin, Dostoyevsky. And I am an absolute fan of Irvine Welsh and George Orwell.
