American indie rock band, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, recently released their new album, Mosquito in April of this year. I have kept my ears and taste open to their new tracks ever since their classic single “Maps” solidified the band in my mind.
The video for the track, “Mosquito,” is simple yet genius. It plainly depicts a mosquito sucking the blood of a child, hence the name of the song. However, it culminates in a psychedelic finale, mirroring the progression of the song. It’s ultimately very eery yet I couldn’t seem to draw my eyes away. This track reflects their iconic style, art-rock and edgy, and from the first listen I knew I would be playing it in my car on a regular basis. What do you guys think?
