We’re SUPER excited to bring an incredible new band to you all; The New Limb. This little band, out of Los Angeles, has been KILLING it lately. They’ve been performing all around town (recently with another one of our favorites, Foxes) and creating all the time (trivia: they list one of their inspirations as tickle flights). They were nice enough to film this little exclusive for YM&C recently while they were in the studio. Check out “Tell Us Your Name”!

That’s great, I love the band name and that song is kinda amazing. It’s like when the sun rises on a dew laden morning and the first glimmer shins against a frost filled window. Long johns and a bird or two chirping in the background are defiantly in the mix!

Another new treasure to add to my iPod thanks to YM&C! I love this song! The guitar part, harmonies, the unique voices, and especially the happy dancing vibe! It’s even cooler that it’s performed live and still sounds flawless. There’s something about live versions of songs that capture my heart! Love it!

“Tell Us Your Name” is easily my favorite within this entire section. While all the posts feature beautiful videos with striking images that compliment the songs and take them to the next level of artistic expression, there is something about this rather simple video that shows people sincerely enjoying their craft and combining there talents to make something incredible that I just love. I love the way their voices mingle and I just want to get up and dance around the room to it.

So this will be my second comment on this page but I’ll definitely elaborate on that tiny sentence I gave originally. This is my favourite music recommendation by YM&C. At the time of this post, I fell head over heels in love with ‘Tell Us Your Name” and had it on repeat (which has now been upgraded to my favourites playlist that I shared sometime yesterday). Since then I’ve been following them on YouTube and have made it my mission to get my friends to listen to them also. Their cover of Climax (by Usher) is flawless and this is from a giant Usher fan. I downloaded the Refugees Live Session and listed to it religiously. Their music is so calming and beautiful. I really like the Cyndi Lauper ‘Time After Time’ inspired bit of Bizarre Love Triangle as it provides some nostalgia to this new music and is sung brilliantly. The music on this site is always great but this band never fails to make me smile when it comes up on shuffle.

The first time I listened to this I though: what about closing my eyes and don’t watch the video? I did this. I started listening all the notes, the rhythms and the voices. It felt so good just to listen what good music is, without distractions. When I did this I could notice all the shades this song has, I was amazed. That’s why this post is my favourite Listen post.

It’s a song that really welcomes you, ‘come with us, take our hand new friend, you’re one of us’.
Once I saw someone beïng sad and lonely in the hallway and I walked to that girl and sat with her, she was listening sad music about feeling alone, losing people, and broken hearted.
I started this song and sang with it and she looked at me, shyly.
I told her she wasn’t alone and then asked her to sing it with me, she said she didn’t know the lyrics.
“Don’t care it’s easy I believe in you just sing with your heart not with your mind” a few minutes later she knew the lyrics and we sang the song together, she smiled.
Now, we love this song as much as we did at that moment and we’re friends!

This is just . ouhaw. I was trying to find which one to chose as ” my favourite one”. And I think that it’s just obvious. Her voice is so…. Spellbinding. Really, who can’t be under her spell after plyaing her song. It’s the kind of girl, who’s so involved in her work, who is so close to her song that we can”t help but say that she is really surroundeed by a halo of passion . It’s not her song. What a difficult pick, my favourite listen post. Well I was going to go for the beautifull Foxes but I love this track in equal measure and it differs from the foxes track in that I probabaly would not have come across this had it not been for ym&c(thank you again guys). This had me from the beautiful, wonderfully sounding first line sung. Just simple bloody decent tune, that`s it.
