Straight out of Los Angeles, ESP releases their video for “627” and it’s a magical trip! I reached out to director, Chris Coats, to hear more about the creative influence behind the video. His response was just as great as the video!:
“At the time I heard the song, I just happened to be reading Haruki Murakami’s “Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World.” The book deals a lot with the idea that our imagination and subconscious are worlds just as real as “reality” even though they’re not physical, so I envisioned a futuristic world where it’s possible to actually communicate with that alternate reality, and with our alternate “higher” selves, represented by the strange creatures.”
I want to go to that world! Watch the video (above) and if you want more of the sounds of ESP, download their first single, “Serenade” for freeee here!
